Orthodontics

A straighter smile that fits your life.

Crooked or crowded teeth are not just a cosmetic thing. They are harder to clean, more likely to wear unevenly and can affect your bite.

Serenity Family Dentistry is an authorized Invisalign provider. We also offer other clear aligner options and traditional braces with tooth-colored brackets, so you can pick what works for your budget and lifestyle.

Dr. Patel plans your treatment, checks your progress at regular visits and makes sure your bite comes together the way it should.

Your Options

Three ways to straighten teeth.

Each option works well for the right case. We will tell you which ones make sense for you.

Invisalign

Custom clear trays you switch every week or two. Take them out to eat, brush and floss. Most people will not notice you are wearing them.

Clear Aligners

Other clear aligner systems that work in a similar way. A good fit for mild to moderate crowding or spacing.

Traditional Tooth Colored Braces

Brackets that blend in with your teeth instead of shiny metal. A strong choice for more complex cases and younger teens.

Is Invisalign right for me?

Invisalign and clear aligners work well for many cases of crowding, gaps, and mild to moderate bite problems in teens and adults. They do require discipline: aligners need to be worn about 20 to 22 hours a day to work. If you know you will not keep them in, braces may be the better path, and that is okay.

What treatment looks like

  1. Consultation. We look at your teeth and bite and talk about your goals.
  2. Scans and planning. We take records and plan each step of tooth movement.
  3. Treatment. You wear aligners or braces and visit us every several weeks so we can check progress.
  4. Retention. Once your teeth are where they should be, you wear retainers to keep them there.

Many cases take about 12 to 18 months, but simple cases can be shorter and complex ones longer. You will get a realistic estimate at your consultation.

Teens and adults

It is never too late to straighten your teeth. Many of our orthodontic patients are adults who always wanted to fix their smile. For teens, we talk with both the student and the parents about which option they will actually stick with. Visiting the same office the whole family already uses makes appointments easier to manage. Paying for orthodontics

Some dental plans include orthodontic benefits, especially for teens. We check your coverage before treatment starts, and patients starting orthodontic treatment can get free teeth whitening as part of our current specials. See insurance options or our membership plan.

Frequently asked questions

Are you an authorized Invisalign provider?

Yes. Serenity Family Dentistry is an authorized Invisalign provider, and we offer treatment at both our Sugar Land and Houston offices.

How long does Invisalign take?

Many cases take around 12 to 18 months. Minor cases can finish sooner. Your actual timeline depends on how much your teeth need to move and how consistently you wear your aligners.

Does Invisalign hurt?

You may feel pressure for a day or two each time you switch to a new set of aligners. That means they are working. It is usually much more comfortable than people expect.

Do I need a retainer after Invisalign or braces?

Yes. Teeth naturally want to drift back. Wearing a retainer, usually at night, keeps your new smile in place.

Two offices, one dentist. Invisalign & Braces is available at our Sugar Land office (12921 West Bellfort Ave, (281) 240-1177) and our Houston office (12861 Gulf Freeway, (281) 922-1919). Walk-ins welcome, free parking at both.
